Match report Dolphins won the toss and opted to field at Bamville in sunny conditions. Ollie and Ron opened up the bowling and Ron got an early break through, dismissing their number 2 batsman for 5. Both bowlers bowled 4 overs as Dolphins looked to use their full complement of bowling. Dolphin for the day Adam Roche picked up two wickets in successive balls. Firstly, their number 3 (who got 80 last season against us) flashed at one, edging it high to second slip. Luckily for the Dolphins, Andy Gregory was back in the team and parried the ball before taking the rebound. Next ball the ball was again edged this time to first slip, where Mike took a very sharp catch low and to his right. 55 for 3.

Dolphins continued to rotate the bowling attack, meaning that Coco and Zippy both bowled 4 overs, with Coco picking up 3 quick wickets, first of which was their opener who scored 89 of their 104 runs. 104 for 5. Coco then picked up another wicket at the expense of going at 10 an over for his 4 overs. Other wickets came from Neil Bolt, Amit and Ollie burgled 2 wickets at the end. Bamville all out for 197 of 37.4 overs.

After tea, Billy and Adam set about chasing the target down. It was a difficult start against some tight bowling and progress started off at a slow place. Adam fell for 5 off 23 balls leaving the Dolphins 30 for 1 with Mike joining Billy at the crease. When Billy fell for 28 it brought Coco to the crease, but after he was dismissed first ball Dolphins were left 51 for 3. Amit and Mike set about holding fire the Dolphins collapse but Amit fell for just 3. Ollie joined his Dad at the crease, but Mike was back in the hutch a short time, leaving Dolphins in the precarious positon of 66 for 5. Neil Bolt joined Ollie at the crease but returned without troubling the scorers.

Bonney joined Ollie at the crease and they set about sensibly heading towards the target, with the required run rate at around 6.5 an over. Time progressed and both batted at a steady rate, picking off the bad balls by either dispatching them to the boundary or running 2s. When Bonney finally fell for 16, it left Dolphins on 123 for 7 and the run rate at a rather large 14 an over. Ron joined Ollie at the crease and started playing in the style that he does, smashing the ball over the park. Ollie brought up his maiden half century, finishing on 51 not out off 50 balls. Meanwhile Ron finished with a quick fire 40 not out off just 24 balls, but Dolphins fell 19 runs short of the target
